Senior Repair Technician

Job Description

  • Permanent position for experienced Engineer
  • Hours 8.30-4.30
  • Salary negotiable DOE c£30kpa
  • Ability to fault find electronic circuit boards down to component level using schematics where available or using historic data trends
  • Ability to interpret circuits where applicable with minimal technical information
  • Establishing the cause of failures and making necessary recommendations increasing the reliability of the products
  • Determining an appropriate repair process to rectify faults
  • Working with surface mounts and through hole devices as well as BGA components
  • Mainboard Rework – soldering – micro soldering skills essential
  • Experience of board testing using Jigs, software updates etc.
  • Basic knowledge of Linux / Windows would be an advantage
  • Strong experience within the Electronics Repair Industry
  • PC literate

The candidate must meet a minimum of 5 key skills set out above, and within the last 2 to 3 years.

Any candidate that is selected for an interview will be given a practical test which will be part of the interview process this will include

  • Removal and replace a port on the mainboard IE: HDMI – USB – Ethernet
  • Removal and replace of a mainboard IC chip
  • Use a multimeter to track power rails and to check voltage
  • Demonstrate you can flow and understand schematics
